Laganas is the most cosmopolitan and developed area of Zakynthos, located in the Gulf bearing the same name, in the south of the island. It is one of the first areas that welcomed organized tourism. It is ideal for those looking for nightlife, as there are many bars and clubs in the area.

This is the beach chosen by the Caretta-Caretta turtles to be one of their refuges. For their protection, the gulf of Laganas as well as the adjacent areas, have been declared a National Sea Park. Ever since that time, the constructions have been limited and all yachts and boats have been forbidden.
